I have to chase some people

I had Nathaniel try on some slip on shoes he got from Emmett (thanks, Amy!) and they fit him now. So I said he could wear them to church or even to school.  He said matter of factly, "No, I can't wear them to school because I have to chase some people." He was so serious and just stating the facts...it was really funny.  And he really does chase people at their recess.  He'll introduce his friends as the ones he chases or that chase him and tells us how fast they are. I think that's part of the reason he won't wear anything but "comfy pants" and "fast shoes". Jeans hamper his speed.

As for Zachary, jeans hamper his ability to wait until the VERY LAST MOMENT to use the potty. I never dress him in pants with a button (and he won't let me), either.

Eventful weekend

Pete and I were hugging Zachary with him in the middle and we said, It's a Zachary sandwich.  He replied in his silly way, "I am the cheese!"

We recently read a book about migrating geese.  So, now every time we see geese flying in the air, Zachary points them out saying, "I see migrating geese" except he pronounces migrating like migerating and it sounds like microwaving.  So, all's I hear is, "I see microwaving geese".

On Friday, Nathaniel came home from school and told us he had a loose tooth!  His first loose tooth. He said he first noticed it loose that day on the bus ride to school. So we look and there, right behind his loose tooth was his adult tooth already poked through. He kept wiggling it and wiggling it the rest of the day and through his t-ball game Saturday morning. During lunch on Saturday, while eating, Nathaniel pulled out his tooth. It surprised him, bled a little and hurt a bit. But he is very proud and was excited to put it under his pillow for the tooth fairy who, the boys informed me, is a girl and is small.

the progression of Zachary during Nate's game.

He was really just putting on a show and really wants to go to Nate's next game.

Debbie made this adorable ladybug skirt, vest and the matching oh so cute doll on the couch.  She just looks adorable wearing it, too.  All weekend she just wanted to sit on a box, any box she could find.  She also would sit on the bottom step and just hang out there and then play peekaboo with us down the hallway.

Clare is 1!

Mr. Zachary

Clare on the morning of her birthday. All these pictures were taken on the same day... her birthday. As you see, it involved 3 sets of clothes:).  After work/daycare, we opened presents and had cake and ice cream after dinner.  She was not into the cake at all. she just smashed it and handed it over.  she did, however, love the ice cream and ate as much as we would give her. It was a fun day and the boys enjoyed singing to her and celebrating. She is walking really well now and can go all down the hallway and across a room.  She is pretty careful and good at regaining her balance without falling. Such a silly, goofy girl that is so fun and loving.  and now she is 1 year old.

Pete got her some biscuit cookies and she sure ate them up quick and asked for more.

She preferred to sit on the box than open it.

And the boys couldn't wait. Clare wasn't so interested in the presents today.

Clare likes walking around the house erasing everything...the walls, the floors, you, the easel.

Little chick cupcakes

i sure like that glowing candle.

ugh. now my hand is all messy with this sticky stuff.

I don't want this

this is Clare signing 'more ice cream, please!'  she sure loved the ice cream.

April: spring weather, baseball and Easter

He found Pete's old baseball hats...now he looks just like picts of Pete I've seen at this age. Nathaniel is playing T-ball for the first time and he's loving it.

We visited Spokane this weekend and spent time with both sets of grandparents. The weather was beautiful, too. Thanks, Aunt Laura, Uncle Chris and girls for the adorable pink dress!  Too cute!

Clare is walking really well now, making progress every day.  She can walk across the room on her own and steadies herself if she loses balance. When she's getting tired though she tries to power through but ends up walking like a drunken sailor, falling a lot.  She tries to power through...much more than either of the boys did.

What is this squishy thing?

Wipe, please!!

Thanks to Aunt Jolene for this adorable dress she got for Clare when she was born. It was a perfect Easter/1st birthday dress.

Photo of the day

Cutie of the day!

Every day, I hear stories about her and her friend Felix at daycare just laughing all day with each other.  She will travel to wherever he is and make him laugh and he laughs and she laughs more.  I've gotten to watch this a couple times and it sure looks like she is doing what Nathaniel does with her to make her friend laugh.  She's a smiler and always laughing at her brothers.  She's to the age where she knows just what she wants and can be picky sometimes and not afraid to throw a fit if she doesn't get what she wants...this includes when I try to put her to bed if she would rather do something else.

Almost one and walking!

I think we can call it that Clare is walking now.  Pretty close anyway.  She does best when she starts from an inanimate object and will just sneak up on you when you weren't looking.  Nathaniel is so good with her and encourages her.
Nate is in T-Ball this year through the local YMCA.  He is really enjoying it so far but not so much about hitting off a tee...he hasn't had much practice with that.  His first "game" is on Monday.

This was from March (St. Patrick's Day actually). She has been using her stroller to walk pretty well for a while.  Here's some fun games we've been playing lately.
and the boys have learned a few new dance moves.
