The boys sure love their baby sister.  Nathaniel asks many times a day to hold her.

 

Zachary had an extended birthday week starting when Matt came bearing gifts.  Zach was very cute and thought that was all the presents for his birthday (and was so happy about it too).  it was so genuine and sweet.  and Matt came with the bunk beds too!!  very excited!  and they are sleeping so well in them.  

 

Then came Zach's actual birthday.  what a fun day!  we went bowling for the first time and had a picnic in the park.  we made a guitar cake, drum and microphone cupcakes.  we ate the cupcakes first keeping the cake until some company arrived later in the week.  My good friend Kate and her two adorable girls came and my parents also.

 

Zachary is 3 years old, 35 1/2 lbs and 39" tall. Nathaniel was also 39" tall on his 3rd birthday but only 33lbs. Zachary definitely has a little more meat on his bones as we've had to bump him up to 4T/5T underpants so he shares with Nate and Zach fills them out better than Nate does.  Zach is still wearing some 3T clothes but 4T pants fit better in the waist but are still pretty long.

 

Nathaniel picked out some airplanes for Zachary to give him so he has some to play with, also.

and he got all the candles out this year! and he clapped afterward.

 

we got him a half size guitar and he has been enjoying playing and singing along to Pandora radio kids stations.  they love mickey mouse clubhouse songs, alvin and the chipmunks, and I like to move it! from madagascar.  

 

this is his new tough guy stance. he is about ready to open his gift from Pete's parents which included capes and a slip and slide (see video below).  luckily it was great weather the next day and subsequent weekend so they used it so much their knees and ankles were red and bruised.  hopefully this rain will pass by the weekend and we'll get it out again.

 

Nate got a cape, too.

 

When my folks were here we went to the local putt-putt golf course.  Nathaniel just kept moving on the next hole so was way ahead.  Zachary was too funny trying to get his ball in the hole.  then he was doing this fist bump as shown in the video.  i think he picked this up from watching golf with grandpa cause i saw him do this later watching golf again and they player sunk a putt.

 

And a new bike!  Since Nate's big wheels are no more, Nathaniel hasn't wanted to ride his bike since now Zach was faster than him on his big wheels.  Hoping this will level the playing field.  It has but now there is a war on who is first.

Clare turned 2 mos old yesterday.  she is looking around more and more at toys and starting to reach for them.  Nathaniel makes her smile every time he talks to her.  She is cooing now and smiling so much.  we had parish directory pictures 2 weekends ago and Clare got to wear her fancy dress from my friend Amy and her girls.  While she isn't looking in the family picture from that we came home and got some photos of her and the boys all dressed up.  Hope to post more from that later.
